Support for High School Women’s Hygiene Health
Our goal is to change the world and our school community one tampon at a time…
We are a group of juniors who attend Athens Drive High School in Raleigh, NC. In an outside of school project, our group decided to address a serious need within our school. We want to address both girl’s self esteem and feminine hygiene at the same time. At this moment, our school does not have feminine hygiene products available for students.
Half the student body is at or below the poverty level. This means accessing and buying items such as tampons or pads can be a struggle and a stress in girl’s daily lives. Not being able to access supplies to care for oneself affects every aspect of a girl’s life from being physically harmful to creating a distraction in class.
Our group believes that school is a place where women should not have to feel uncomfortable or limited due to natural bodily functions. We would like your help to raise funds to buy feminine hygiene vending boxes for the women’s bathrooms. We would appreciate any and all donations, and would love for you to spread the word!
Thank you for your time and your support!
