Kudos to two seniors from the Athens Drive Marching Band who will be performing on the field during half-time at the U.S. Army All American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas on January 4, 2014!
Jay Dineen and Aaron Kerr were selected from a nationwide pool of applicants based upon their individual video tape auditions and character references. Both boys are in the percussion section of the school’s award winning marching band; Aaron will play the snare drum at the All American Bowl and Jay will play the electric bass guitar. Representatives from the Army had a ceremony at Athens this past week to officially recognize Jay and Aaron. They received jackets, ball caps and will have all expenses paid on their trip to Texas for the game.
Only 125 students from the entire nation are selected for the marching band so it is a great honor to have two students from Athens Drive represented. Be sure to congratulate Aaron and Jay if you see them!
