February 1 – March 2, in conjunction with WAKE Up and Read, WCPSS will collect new and gently used books for children ages birth-12.
The goal is to collect 100,000 books county-wide in one month – enough to share at nine schools, as well as community centers and child care facilities across Wake County. We need the help and support of the entire community to reach our goal – every donation and contribution matters, no matter the size.
Thousands of children in Wake County go to bed every night without a bedtime story.
61% of children in low-income homes have no children’s books of their own.
