What are Classroom Supply Grants? Each fall, the Athens Drive PTSA awards Classroom Supply Grants for programs that enrich the educational opportunities for our students or provide needed resources or supplies that are not a part of the department’s budget. Please read the guidelines below and click on the application link at the bottom of the page. Fall Classroom Supply Grant applications for the 2024-25 school year open on Friday, August, 30 2024 and are due by Friday, September 27, 2024 Grant applications will be carefully reviewed by the PTSA Classroom Supply Grant Committee and teachers will be notified by email. Reimbursement receipts should be received by October 31, 2024.
Guidelines to Apply for Classroom Supply Grants
The purpose of these grants is to provide additional funding for supplies, resources, or materials 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝘀. These can be physical supplies, such as books, workbooks, and tools; or digital resources, such as website subscriptions for worksheets, tests, and other subject-related materials. These grants can also cover supplies needed to create fun and innovative classroom activities that will enrich the students’ learning environment.
1. To be eligible to apply for a PTSA Classroom Supply Grant, you must be a PTSA member. You can JOIN online or fill out the Membership Form and submit it to the PTSA mailbox. Membership must be received by the grant application deadline date – September 27th.
2. These grants are paid by reimbursement. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝗽𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗺𝗯𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸.
3. Each grant application covers up to $150. Applicants are free to purchase items over this amount with the understanding that only the approved grant amount will be reimbursed.
4. If more than one name is on a grant application, it is expected that the grant amount of $150 will be shared by these individuals.
5. Two or more teachers may coordinate to purchase a more-expensive item by meeting the following criteria: (1) each teacher must submit an application showing their portion of the cost; (2) each teacher must be a PTSA member; (3) each must submit grant applications by the deadline. Each teacher should also note who they are coordinating with in their applications.
6. You may apply for more than one item on one grant application (for example, a software program and some books) as long as the total is equal to or less than the grant amount.
7. Requests for classroom supplies that are regularly provided by the school will most likely incur a reduced grant amount since they are already available for teacher use.
8. Items purchased through these grants are meant to be used by Athens Drive students, and, whenever possible, should remain in the classroom or at the school.
9. Please note that clubs are not eligible for Classroom Supply Grants.
These grants are reviewed and awarded by the Classroom Supply Grant Committee, composed of PTSA Officers, Principal Boshoff, and parent volunteers. Application approval is decided by majority vote of Committee members.
Classroom Supply Grant application is due by Friday, September 27, 2024!
We look forward to working with you this year!
