PTSA Volunteer Opportunities

We have something for Everyone!

Audit Committee:

  • Perform a monthly/quarterly review of the PTSA’s bank statements and supporting documents
  • Perform the Annual Financial Review and file the Year End Report with the NCPTA (Basic accounting knowledge would be helpful for this committee)

Backpack Buddies Program:

  • The Athens Drive Backpack Buddies Program serves students in our school who do not have access to sufficient food outside of school. This program provides a bag of nutritious food on Fridays to assure students have meals over the weekend.
  • The PTSA has committed to sponsoring one week a month to provide food and pack up bags for our students in need. Volunteers will be needed to send in donations of food, organize the food pantry, and pack the backpacks on Thursdays

Classroom Supply Grant Committee:

  • Each fall, the Athens Drive PTSA awards Classroom Supply Grants for needed resources or supplies that will enrich the educational opportunities for students. Grants are available for up to $100 and will be awarded sometime in October.
  • Assist PTSA Board in reviewing and approving teacher submissions for grants
