First Ever ADHS Grounds Beautification Day a Success!
During the course of the long weekend a remarkable transformation took place in front of the library entrance to Athens Drive High School! Over 90 students, teachers and parents worked together to beautify the area by removing overgrown liriope, trimming branches, raking leaves, planting flowers and shrubs, spreading mulch and compost and picking up trash. Other areas that also received attention were the library courtyard and the pathway between the administration and library entrances which was reconstructed with new timbers and mulch. We will have to wait until spring to fully appreciate the beauty of the new azaleas planted along that walkway. Student groups will be responsible for caring for the new flowers and shrubs during the course of the school year. Future workdays are being planned for other parts of the school grounds.
The PTSA would like to thank all of the hardworking volunteers who turned out to help with this event–we couldn’t have accomplished everything that we did without your help! We also thank the people who donated snacks, water and hot chocolate for the workers on Saturday. If you have any questions or would like to be involved in upcoming workdays, please contact the PTSA via their website: athensdrivePTSA.com
