The Athens Drive Backpack Buddies Program serves students in our school who do not have access to sufficient food outside of school. This program provides a bag of nutritious food on Fridays to assure students have meals over the weekend. The PTSA has committed to sponsoring one week a month to provide food and pack up bags for our students in need. Volunteers are needed to send in donations of food, to sort and organize the donations, and to pack the backpacks on Thursdays. To help, go to this Sign Up Genius to donate food items or volunteer. Be sure to send in donations marked “PTSA Backpack Buddies“. Other groups are also collecting items for their donation weeks, so please be sure to mark donations for the PTSA week.
