Gargantuan Canned Food Drive and CANstruction Competition!
Several ADHS student organizations are joining together to ask for donations of canned foods for the first ever CANstruction Competition at Athens Drive, with the canned foods to be donated to local churches following the competition. The local churches will then distribute the canned goods to needy families in the Athens Drive neighborhood before the holidays. The cans will be divided among Mr. Barry’s STEM class and Ms. Nato’s CTE class and each class will have 80 minutes to CANsruct a structure on the stage in the auditorium on Friday, December 13. The classes must make a structure that is self-supporting, utilizes structural engineering principles and displays creative use of the labels. Stop by after school on Friday, December 13 to view the results!
Cans may be dropped off in the marked boxes in the Main Office, the Library, Mr. Barry’s Room #2720 or Ms. Nato’s Room #1922. The deadline is Thursday, December 12th. We need almost 1000 cans of food, so everyone, please start sending in cans as soon as possible!
